Michelle Scull, LCSW Program Manager
Michelle Scull is a licensed clinicial social worker with a great deal of experience working with children and adolescents. She graduated with her Bachelors in Arts from SUNY Albany and with her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. She previously worked in residential treatment centers both in New York and New Jersey, managed in-home therapy teams, anger management programs and "FAMILYConnections" children's partial care program, Youth Connections, before helping to start up this new School Based Youth Services Program. Lia Ward
Clinician
Lia Ward is the staff clinician at The DEN. She has a Master's Degree in Pschological Studies, and a Post Master's Ed.S in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has experience working in a school for autistic children in a program for behavioral management. For the past four and a half years, Lia conducted therapy with DYFS children and their families from Essex County. She has worked with foster and adopted children and has run many groups for teens inlcuding self-esteem, transitions, and social skills. Lia can be reached at 973.680.8600 ext. 4158.
Emily SavinoYouth Development Specialist
Emily Savino received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Temple University and is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University. Through previous employment opportunities and volunteer activities, Emily has a wide range of experience. Working in various settings has given her the opportunity to work with a broad client-base, including families involved with DYFS, adults with substance abuse issues, older adults struggling with maintaining their independence, as well as children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Emily’s interests include participating in recreational sports (especially air hockey), dancing, cooking and traveling. Emily uses her enthusiasm and passion to support the students at Bloomfield High School throughout the school year.
Mark Halliday, MA
Employment Specialist
Mark Halliday grew up in Brooklyn, New York and majored in Psychology at York College (CUNY). Upon graduation he ran his own general contracting company for 5 years. In 1980 he was accepted into the Merrill Lynch technology training program and spent the next 23 years working on Wall St. for Merrill Lynch, Drexel Burnham Lambert, Shearson-Lehman Brothers and Citibank. As his technology career wound down he began a masters program at Montclair State University in Organizational Psychology. Concurrent with his studies he interned in MSU’s Coop/Service learning group, preparing students for entering either a credit based internship or preparing for entering the real working world. Upon graduation he returned to general contracting until he was approached by "FAMILYConnections" to become an employment specialist. He also teaches a course at MSU, “Psychology of Leadership”.
